What you see in this screen is actually 3 different (colored) pages pasted together to be viewed here as one.  The fourth page is the FRAMESET / MASTER page that holds all three pages together.  filename: frames_sample.htm

MOST LIKELY SCENARIO

Usually most web masters, design the Banner section to include Website Logo and Global Links such as Search, Help, Site Map etc.  Sometimes, clicking on links here will change the information on the Contents and / or Main section of the Frames.

Clicking on any link in Contents will usually affect this page, the Main section of the Frame.

Also, by default, clicking on any link on this page and / or section (Main) will only change the information in this very same section.  Click on Link 2 (Contents) in the yellow area for a demonstration.

If there is a need, you can make a link in any section open in any particular section of the screen though you will have to do your own
